The start of the Global Rallycross Championship may still be a month away, but that hasn’t stopped Ken Block from keeping busy. He’s gone from unveiling a new race shop in Park City, Utah, to a promotional tour in Australia, to scoring the best finish of his World Rally Championship career—a seventh place run in Rally Mexico this past weekend.

And even at age 45, with two kids starting school soon, he’s got no plans to stop.

“I do this truly for the fun of it,” Block told Mac Morrison of Autoweek. “I don’t absolutely have to do it. I’ve got an amazing opportunity and I’m going to push to be the best driver I can possibly be and keep learning.”

Block will compete in the full GRC schedule, starting with the season-opening event at X Games in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. “I don’t have an X Games gold medal,” he added. “I feel like I have the skills to win (there) and that’s something I want to accomplish before I go anywhere else.”
