Cockermouth, England (March 22, 2013) – Global Rallycross Championship contender Ken Block, Hoonigan Racing Division, and British-based rally organization M-Sport have announced a partnership in which Block will campaign the M-Sport-prepared Hoonigan Racing Division Ford Fiesta ST RX43 in this year’s GRC schedule. Revealed today, Block shook down the new No. 43 car in a private test session in the United Kingdom.

“I’m absolutely stoked on how this car has turned out,” Block said in a release. “I know my Ford Fiesta HFHV last year was awesome, but the RX43 is really on a whole new level. Malcolm and the team at M-Sport took all of our input and made some radical improvements. I’m feeling absolutely confident that I’ll have one of the best cars on the starting grid when we kick off the GRC season at Global X Games in Brazil next month. I can’t wait!”

M-Sport was established in 1979 by team principal Malcolm Wilson, winning numerous national championships with Wilson behind the wheel. M-Sport took the helm of Ford’s World Rally Championship program at the start of the 1997 season, winning the 2006 manufacturer’s title with future GRC driver Marcus Gronholm behind the wheel. Currently, M-Sport campaigns numerous manufacturer and customer cars in the WRC.

Block enters his sophomore GRC season after finishing fifth in points last year. He qualified fastest at two events, X Games Los Angeles and SEMA, last year, and scored a best finish of second at X Games. Block also added three heat wins in 2012, one at Las Vegas and two at SEMA.
