CULVER CITY, Calif. (July 11, 2013) – GTChannel and Global Rallycross today announced a partnership to help develop, advise and distribute Global Rallycross content on YouTube. Under the new partnership, GTChannel will feature and promote Global Rallycross content throughout their automotive multi-channel network and will provide expertise around audience participation and growth on YouTube.
With YouTube now reaching more 18-35 year-olds than any other cable network, Global Rallycross seeks to gain a higher social media presence and engagement from their audience through GTChannel’s partnership.
“This partnership strengthens the Series’ ability to engage and interact with our growing fan base,” said Chip Pankow, COO, Global Rallycross. “Global Rallycross didn’t have a system in place to develop original programming for YouTube and fans were demanding additional supplementary content outside of our existing broadcast TV shows, making the partnership with GTChannel a no-brainer.”
Event and Day Recaps will be made available on the Global Rallycross channel and will be promoted through GTChannel. Events feature intense racing, high-flying action and top-name drivers including X-games gold medalist, Global Rallycross 2011, 2012 champion and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust, action sport icons Ken Block, Travis Pastrana and Brian Deegan and appearances from World Rally Champions Marcus Gronholm and Sebastien Loeb.
In addition to event and day recaps, Global Rallycross and GTChannel will develop and feature stories such as track walk / behind the scenes footage and driver profiles.
“This partnership is really a win, win for both parties. We have been huge fans of Global Rallycross and its drivers,” said Taro Koki, Founder and Co-CEO, GTChannel. “Global Rallycross Champion Tanner Foust has been a part of our network for sometime now and being able to exclusively feature behind the scene content that we know our audience is craving is exciting.”
